Rick Hayes
When he's not playing bluegrass, Rick is either making classic F-5 mandolins and dreadnought guitars; or recording, performing or producing in his studio, Hayes Productions. In the studio, he really works with artists to bring out their absolute best. He plays a variety of instruments -- including guitar, bass, drums and mandolin -- and covers a variety of styles.
Completed in 2008 while playing mandolin with The Gibson Brothers, "Fly By Night" is Rick Hayes' first solo CD. In addition to his lead vocals and performance on the mandolin, guitar and bass, Rick invited several A-listers to join him as noted below. The final track on the album is a tribute song from an album recorded with his father, Green Hayes. Click here to read reviews of the album.
Rick is currently part of the group Nightflyer, which you can also find on the Kang Records label.
